After the nine days of Navratri, on the tenth day the festival of Dussehra is celebrated, which symbolizes the triumph of good over evil, representing the legend of Rama and Ravana. King Ravana had abducted Sita and then Lord Rama rescued his beloved Princess, gaining victory over the powerful, evil king Ravana.
It’s a big festival in India and people all over the country celebrate in various ways.
On the day of Dussehra, large statues of Ravana are constructed and brought into open fields.
The effigies of Ravana are burned symbolizing the victory of good over evil and to give a strong message to people to follow the path of virtue and goodness throughout the year.
Houses are decorated with beautiful coloured flowers, artistic rangolis, display of images / statues of goddess Durga, Saraswati, Laxmi, Ganesha.

As this year everybody will be staying back at home, so the temptation to binge on the delicacies prepared at home will be more, so to avoid that, try to eat small portions.
